Crowley's hands are beginning to get cold. They're getting pretty close to teh North Pole, after all. And look, down there! It's a couple of polar bears.

Ali sees the polar bears and gives a quiet squeal. "Look, polar bears! Can I pet them? Please?"

How can he resist such great big eyes of pleading?

He nods. "Fine. We can go pet the polar bears. You can pet the polar bears. I'm going to stay a rather safe distance away. Don't expect any help if your face gets eaten."

He angles downward and lands lightly on the snow.

"They won't hurt me," she replies confidantly, "I'm very good with animals. I've managed this long with, haven't I?"

She smirks, then begins putting on a pair of earrings. "Besides, I speak bear."

"You speak bear." He supposes it's not all that difficult, really. This growl means "FOOD!" and this growl means "Food?" and this growl means "You're about to become food!"

"Do they have anything interesting to say?"

Bear language is very much like that, but also involves posturing, which is somewhat more complicated. Or at least cold, what with the rolling around in the snow. But it does not, for Ali at least, involve getting eaten.

"Well, I wouldn't expect them to discuss Handel and Mozart and the like at length," he admits.

He tries not to laugh at Ali as she 'speaks' bear. They are... well, not cute, but they're certainly very interesting in and of themselves. He wonders what they'd do if he tried speaking bear to them.

Ali realizes she probably looks ridiculous, laying on her back in the snow and being used as a trampoline by some of the cubs. She doesn't mind.

"I know a bear who's very fond of Beethoven. Handy with a violin, too. But he was a circus bear."

Crowley edges up near one of the bears. Its teeth are yellowed and long, but Crowley hops Ali will get him out of any trouble - if any should arise.

"Growl?" he says hopefully.

The bears looks at Crowley like he's insane, then shakes its head and gives a proper growl. It's loud, and involves a lot of stinky fish-breath.

And it makes Ali laugh.

Crowley doesn't flinch, precisely, but he edges away a little bit before taking a deep breath and opening his mouth to reply.

The sound that comes out is similar to the bear's growl, but there are odd harmonics in it, almost like flies buzzing in the background. For a moment, Crowley considers trying out a bear-shape, but that would just ruin his suit.

The bear is appropriately contrite after that, and backs down. It then wanders off to try and find something to eat.

Ali is staring. "How did you do that?"

Crowley coughs again. It's going to be a while before his voice is back to normal, thanks to that little trick. "Jus' growled," he says. "Dint know wha' I said."

He's wishing he had a lozenge, or at least a very warm cuppa.

Ali kisses his cheek, then his throat. Then she fishes some lozenges out of a pocket and hands him one. "Here, this'll help."

They're cherry-flavored.

Well how was she supposed to know that? She'd've brought grape if she'd known.

But since he doesn't say anything, she smiles at the kiss and wraps her arms around him again. "Still feel up to making the mother of all snowstorms?"

If the smile on his face and the glint in his eyes are any indication, then the answer is a resounding yes. He just hopes Aziraphale is ready to stop the snow from hurting anything too much.

There's no big flashy lightshow, no anime-style dance routine. But something definitely happens. When it's done, she presses up against him from behind, arms wrapping around him.

Is she glowing? Why yes.

"That one?" she asks, her voice subtly different, pointing to the snow drift previously indicated.
